NGC 891

One of my favorite galaxies has moved into position for me to image it:  NGC 891.  I was hopeful that the 1600mm focal length of the AT8RC would help me reveal some detail in those dust lanes, and I wasn’t disappointed.

I got about 120 4 minute exposures in one night because I went out to handle the meridian flip before going to bed.  This was the best 100. I love the fact that this scope almost never has to be refocused in the middle of an imaging run.
