IC1396 and vdb142, The Elephant Trunk Nebula

I got over 100 4 minute exposures of these guys last night. Amazingly, I only had to throw out two subs (clouds), and focus stayed tight the whole time.

I still would have aimed a little further north if I had it to do over, but it’s not bad framing with this crop. These are the best 82 exposures, but there’s some haze in there still, so I might have to go with the best 50 or so. This was a quick process, but it yielded something decent.  This seems to be another target that gobbles up exposure time. It’s pretty enough that I might have to dedicated another night to it.
