NGC 6960, the Western Veil Nebula

Ah, the joys of finally being able to image the “red” nebulae.  Since I self-modded my Rebel XSi two weeks ago, I’ve been itching to capture a good one, and here it is.  NGC 6960, the Western Veil Nebula. This guy was previously too difficult to get a decent image of, but now… piece of cake! This was only three hours of exposure time.

45x4min at ISO1600 (70+ flats, 100+ darks)

Orion EON 120 w/AT field flattener on a CGEM

Processed in Photoshop CS3
